With big plans for pizza masterclasses and more this Winter, we caught up with Pop Members Raj and Sandeep, the founders of Share A Slice…

For anyone who hasn’t yet experienced the deliciousness of Share A Slice, introduce yourselves!

Share A Slice is Pop Brixton’s resident Neapolitan Pizzeria, serving up Pizza with a Purpose. Share A Slice operates on a one for one model, in which is donates a pizza for everyone brought from their unit. Headed up by Sandeep and Raj, the childhood friends, took a trip to Naples where they learnt their trade under the master Pizzaiolo, Enzo Coccia.

How long have Share A Slice been at Pop Brixton?

Share A Slice joined Pop Brixton in 2019 and are well into their second year, although we don’t count 2020, we all know why!

In the time that you’ve been at Pop Brixton, how many pizzas have been donated on your ‘one for one’ scheme?

13,500+ pizzas have been donated in our time here and we don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.

Who are the beneficiaries of Share A Slice and your pizza donation programme?

Share A Slice prides itself on working with local grass roots charities! The team have worked with Brixton Soup KitchenCompliments of the House, and Refugee Community Kitchen in their time at Pop Brixton.

In 2020, they ran their inaugural Christmas campaign, 12 days of Christmas, where they donated 1200 pizzas in 12 days.

In November, Share A Slice will be running two Pizza Masterclasses at Pop Brixton!

Come and experience what it is like to step into a Neapolitan Pizzeria with Raj and Sandeep of Share A Slice. The boys are here to give you a taste of what it is like to become a Pizzaiolo in the heart of Naples, giving you all the secrets that you need to know to become the envy of your friends.  

Upon arrival, you will be greeted with a beverage of choice (a beer, a glass of Prosecco or soft drink of choice). We will then begin the class in which we will talk about how to make good dough generally and at home, followed by a masterclass in how to slap, stretch and top your pizza. 

Groups will then be split into two where they will accompany the chefs to the oven area and learn how to cook their pizza the Share A Slice way, in a fired oven. Each person will have the opportunity to make and eat their own pizza all with another drink along the way! 

By the end of the session, you’ll have learnt how to become Pizza Pros, Neapolitan Style!

Pizza Masterclasses will be taking place on:

– Tuesday 16th November, from 6-8pm

– Tuesday 30th November, from 6-8pm
